To work for SpeakWrite you must:

• Have minimum typing speed of 65 wpm.

• For legal transcription:

• Have at least 24 months of increasingly responsible legal work in a law firm, within five years of the date of application.

• Have specific experience in and a good working knowledge of the set up of legal pleadings, agreements, court headings, interrogatories, deposition summaries, formal correspondence, etc.

• Have a good working knowledge of the proper format of legal citations.

• For general transcription:

• Have at least 24 months of intensive word processing or transcription experience, within five years of the date of application. (General office experience, data entry experience, accounting experience, etc. are not sufficient.)

• Have specific experience in and a good working knowledge of the set up of formal correspondence, reports, etc.

• Be committed to maintain and meet work schedules agreed to and consistently produce quality product required by the company.

• Be comfortable operating your computer, and be willing to keep your computer hardware and software maintained and updated as necessary.

• BE ABLE TO FOCUS AND NOT BE DISTRACTED WHILE YOU ARE DOING WORK FOR THE COMPANY.
